"Happy Retirement Socks" for Madre

I don't know which I love more... this yarn or this pattern.
Yarn: Mountain Colors Bearfoot, "Lost Trails" (see previous post)
Needles: size 1 Addi circs (first time with Addi's... OMG nice joins)
Pattern: Rib and Cable Socks, by Nancy Bush (from Interweave Knits, Fall '05) but I'm hacking the pattern to bits. I've changed it to toe-up, short row toes and heels, added 10 sts to the width, and I'll do my own ribbing. Basically I'm just using her 10 st repeat pattern for the ribs & cables.

All for $43.88

I have acquired a sock yarn stash. My regular yarn stash could fill a gymnasium. Twice. But I had precious little sock yarn... until today. For those interested in KnitPicks yarn here's the breakdown:
Back row: 2 sk Landscapes (New England Foliage), 4 sk Memories (Yukon & Redwood Forest)
Front row: 2 sk Sock Garden (daffodil of course), and 4 misc sk of Dancing.

Reminds me of Tulips...

Yarn: TLC Baby
Needles: size 3 (2 circs, both 16")
Pattern: my own.
Comments: Hard to tell but the heels and toes are solid pale pink, the rest is "Fizzy Print" varigated. Experimenting with acrylic yarn for socks for babies - WAY soft, washable, and doesn't matter that it will probably not wear as long because babies grow outta things too fast anyway.
